Bank your business with KBTB. The KBTB Business Checking Account is a U.S.-style transaction account for eligible businesses that need to receive revenue, pay expenses, and manage day-to-day cash flow in the business’s legal name. How to open a KBTB Business Checking Account

  1. Contact KBTB. Use the bank’s official website or visit a KBTB branch. Tell the bank your business structure and state of formation, and ask which business checking option and application channel fit your needs.
  2. Confirm account authority. Decide who will own and operate the account. Ask KBTB what it requires to identify owners, beneficial owners, authorized signers, and the people who can approve payments or make account changes.
  3. Gather the documents KBTB requests. Depending on your business structure, the bank may ask for an EIN or other tax identification number, formation or registration documents, an ownership agreement, business license if applicable, a resolution authorizing the account, and government-issued identification for owners or signers. Ask KBTB for its current checklist before submitting documents.
  4. Review the account terms. Check the opening deposit, minimum balance, monthly maintenance charge, transaction limits, cash deposit handling, check services, ACH and wire fees, overdraft settings, and any online or mobile banking charges. Ask what happens if your balance falls below a requirement.
  5. Apply through a verified KBTB channel. Complete the current application and provide documents only through KBTB’s official secure channel or at a branch. Do not send account credentials or one-time security codes to anyone.
  6. Set up safe account controls. After KBTB approves the account, confirm how to enroll in available services, enable alerts, set appropriate signer and payment permissions, and keep the business’s account records separate from personal spending.

Manage business money with KBTB

Use the account to organize routine business receipts and payments, subject to the services KBTB makes available. Before relying on checks, electronic transfers, cash deposits, merchant settlements, or payroll payments, ask KBTB about eligibility, cutoff times, holds, daily limits, and fees. Keep statements and reconcile transactions regularly so the business can track incoming funds and scheduled expenses.

Deposit insurance and account terms

If the account is held at an FDIC-insured bank, eligible business checking deposits may qualify for FDIC insurance subject to the applicable ownership category and coverage limits. Verify the legal name of the bank holding your deposit and review how the FDIC treats your business structure. Deposits owned by the same corporation, partnership, or organization at the same insured bank may be combined when coverage is calculated. See the FDIC’s guidance on business and organization accounts.

KBTB will confirm current availability and terms. Eligibility, required documents, opening deposits, fees, balance requirements, transaction limits, and included services are determined by KBTB’s current account agreement and your application. This page does not promise approval or specific account features. Review the disclosures before opening the account.
